ਮਨੁ ਹਾਲੀ ਕਿਰਸਾਣੀ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਰਮੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਤਨੁ ਖੇਤੁ ॥

Man Haalee Kirasaanee Karanee Saram Paanee Than Khaeth ||

मनु हाली किरसाणी करणी सरमु पाणी तनु खेतु ॥

Make your mind the farmer, good deeds the farm, modesty the water, and your body the field.

ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਲ ਵਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਚੰਗੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ, ਲੱਜਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਜਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਲੀ ਬਣਾ।

ਨਾਮੁ ਬੀਜੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸੁਹਾਗਾ ਰਖੁ ਗਰੀਬੀ ਵੇਸੁ ॥

Naam Beej Santhokh Suhaagaa Rakh Gareebee Vaes ||

नामु बीजु संतोखु सुहागा रखु गरीबी वेसु ॥

Let the Lord's Name be the seed, contentment the plow, and your humble dress the fence.

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰਾ ਬੀ, ਸਬਰ ਪੈਲੀ ਪਧਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁਹਾਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਬਾਣਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਾੜ ਹੋਵੇ।

ਭਾਉ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਜੰਮਸੀ ਸੇ ਘਰ ਭਾਗਠ ਦੇਖੁ ॥੧॥

Bhaao Karam Kar Janmasee Sae Ghar Bhaagath Dhaekh ||1||

भाउ करम करि जमसी से घर भागठ देखु ॥१॥

Doing deeds of love, the seed shall sprout, and you shall see your home flourish. ||1||

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਬੀ ਉਗ ਪਊਗਾ। ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਂਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਧਦਾ ਫੁਲਦਾ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ।

जिस के सिर ऊपरि तूं सुआमी सो दुखु कैसा पावै ॥

When You stand over our heads, O Lord and Master, how can we suffer in pain?

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸੀਸ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਉਹ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?

ਬੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਦਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਰਣਾ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੧॥

बोलि न जाणै माइआ मदि माता मरणा चीति न आवै ॥१॥

The mortal being does not know how to chant Your Name - he is intoxicated with the wine of Maya, and the thought of death does not even enter his mind. ||1||

ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਤਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
